What are Carbonless Copy Paper?

|
Lowell Schielcher and Barry Green chemists from NCR co invented this process as a stainfree alternative to carbon paper. Sheets of paper are coated at the bottom with micro-encapsulated ink and a special reactive clay.at the top of subsequent sheets. The ink at the back of the first sheet reacts with the clay on the top of the middle sheet to form a permanent mark. The other sheets reacts the same way with the last sheet having no ink at the back.
When someone makes an imprint by writing, the pressure of the writing instrument triggers the spill of the ink to react with the clay producing an accurate print only on the precise area of presuure.
